STOLEN (秘密行动 mimi xingdong) est un groupe de Techno Rock aux influences Dark Wave, Post Punk, Noise et l’une des tête de pont de la scène rock en Chine. Après leur tournée avec New Order et leur dernier album Eroded Creation enregistré en 2022 avec Mark Reeder à Berlin, ils préparent la sortie d’un nouvel EP et seront en tournée en Europe cet automne.

 

Formé en 2010, STOLEN est un groupe de rock chinois de cinq membres basé à Chengdu. STOLEN c’est la nature sauvage et sexy du rock mêlée à la rationalité systématique et la retenue de l’électro. Leur son énergique qui intègre des influences techno, dark-wave, noise et post-punk, invite à la fois une introspection profonde, et une irrésistible invitation à la danse.
STOLEN révise l’ADN du groupe de rock traditionnel pour en faire une machine hyper-synchronisée taillée pour le dancefloor, avec des performances live audiovisuelles explosives et indélébiles. STOLEN bénéficie d’une reconnaissance forte en Chine et d’une grande unité esthétique dans le son, la vision et la scène, affirmant ainsi son statut de leader incontesté du renouveau de la scène musicale underground chinoise (56 K fans sur les plateformes chinoises).

En 2016, le groupe passe aux Transmusicales de Rennes et joue à la Réunion. En 2018 ils sont repérés par le producteur de renom Mark Reeder qui produit leurs albums à Berlin. En 2019, New Order invite STOLEN à les rejoindre sur leur tournée donnant au groupe une grande expérience de la scène internationale ainsi qu’un début de fanbase en Europe (Besançon, Strasbourg, Prague, Munich, Berlin, Bruxelles, Paris, Amsterdam) qui attend leur retour après le Covid. En octobre 2024 STOLEN revient enfin en Europe !

A five-man rock band from China, based in Chengdu. Formed in 2010, the band was invited as a guest for the legendary British New wave band New Order on their European tour in 2019. STOLEN has the wild and sexy nature of traditional rock music, while blending the sanity and restraint of electronic music. Their high-energy sound integrated techno, darkwave, and post- punk influences, is both introspective, exploratory and irresistibly danceable.

 

Remolding the rock band configuration into a hyper-synchronized dance engine, with a highly explosive audio and handcrafted-visual live performance, STOLEN has a strong recognition and a high degree of aesthetic unity in sound, vision and scene, is undoubtedly one of the leaders of indie rock scene in China.
